Issues arising during the political year significantly influence the nationalism of a nation and state. Two primary focal points during this political period are the government and society. This research endeavors to scrutinize the crises of nationalism within these two spheres, particularly concerning domestic politics and foreign policy. Moreover, the study positions itself to address key inquiries: (1) What is the intricate relationship between nationalism and politics? (2) In what manifestation does the crisis of nationalism manifest during the political year? (3) How does ethical philosophy conceptualize and evaluate this phenomenon? The employed research methodology involves a comprehensive literature review, and the analysis is grounded in Larry Chonko's ethical philosophy. The research findings elucidate several dimensions: (1) The intricate relationship between nationalism and politics unfolds as nationalism poses challenges to identity politics, serves as a significant value in political participation, constitutes a foundation for the welfare of the populace, acts as a defense mechanism for the State from internal threats, and guides national development. (2) The crisis of nationalism during the political year manifests in both the government and society spheres, exerting repercussions on domestic politics and foreign policy in Indonesia. The governmental crisis of nationalism specifically targets public policy, legal frameworks, and political strategies. Conversely, societal manifestations revolve around national actions and perspectives. (3) The ethical philosophical perspective reveals that the crisis of nationalism during the political year, instigated by both the government and society, deviates from the principles of generosity, reduction of harm, respect for autonomy and was not in accordance with the principles of justice
