Abstract

Beautiful chants of the recitation of the holy verses of the Qur'an were heard from a mosque in the Netra Penganthi Penanthi Social Service Center for Sensory Disabilities, Temanggung. Dozens of people, both men and women, seemed solemn to read the holy book. However, there is something different from how people usually read the Qur'an. As seen by one of his readers who sat cross-legged in the foyer of the mosque among his colleagues. The fingers of this woman's right hand from Banyumas, move swiftly on white speckled paper. There are absolutely no scribbles of black Arabic letters, like the Qur'an in general. It turned out that the Braille Qur'an was being read by the residents of the special home for people with visual impairments. Yes, at first glance for normal people it might seem so difficult to read, but not for them. Verse by verse can be read well by them. This is how we read the Qur'an, it's actually the same thing. The only difference from the ordinary Qur'an is that we have to feel the letters.
