Abstract

Patience is a fundamental concept in Islamic teachings that encompasses spiritual, emotional, and social dimensions. In Islam, patience is not merely about restraining anger or frustration but involves steadfastness in facing trials, hardships, and challenges in life. This study aims to explore the meaning of patience from the perspective of the Qur'an and Hadith and its implications for daily life. Using a qualitative approach with textual analysis methods, the study identifies three main dimensions of patience: (1) patience in obedience to Allah, (2) patience in avoiding His prohibitions, and (3) patience in enduring afflictions. Furthermore, patience is highlighted as a key to success in both worldly life and the Hereafter, reinforced by Allah's promise of immeasurable rewards for those who exhibit patience. This study underscores the importance of cultivating patience as a core character trait in addressing the complexities of modern life, offering solutions to various psychological and social challenges. It is hoped that this research contributes to the study of ethics and personal development within the Islamic context.
