disobedience to the Sunnah in a modern religious context.  This research explores the social, cultural and political reasons behind the rejection of the Sunnah, as well as their implications for contemporary Islamic understanding and practice.  Through literature analysis and case studies, this research highlights the importance of understanding and recognizing the authority of the Sunnah in maintaining the unity and integrity of religious teachings, while also offering strategies for increasing awareness and acceptance of the Sunnah among culturally and ideologically diverse societies.
