A good proposal requires coherence between the research problem, objectives, approach, data collection techniques, and data analysis. In practice, however, many proposals are still weak in methodological aspects and therefore need to be strengthened through a deeper understanding of research methodology. This study uses a qualitative approach with a library research design. Data were collected from relevant literature and then analyzed descriptively and analytically. The discussion results show that a deeper understanding of research methodology plays an important role in helping researchers choose the appropriate research design, arrange research steps systematically, and improve the academic quality of the proposal. Thus, mastery of methodology becomes the main basis for producing a mature, logical, and feasible research proposal.
Fareza Hidayat Fredy Melya Saragih Farid Adnir Hak Cipta (c) 2026 Jurnal Akademika Kajian Ilmu-Ilmu Sosial, Humaniora Dan Agama 2026-06-24 2026-06-24 6 2 JENIS-JENIS PENELITIAN TAFSIR, LIBRARY RESEARCH, PENELITIAN TEMATIK, DAN ANALISIS TOKOH TAFSIR https://jurnal.wu-institute.com/index.php/jak/article/view/324
This study discusses the types of tafsir research, namely library research, thematic tafsir research, and tafsir scholar analysis. It aims to explain the meaning, procedures, and main differences among these three types of research in Qur’anic and tafsir studies. This research applies a qualitative approach with a library-based method, so all data are obtained from relevant written sources. The findings show that library research serves as the main basis of tafsir research because it focuses on literature review; thematic tafsir research is directed toward collecting Qur’anic verses under one specific theme to gain a comprehensive understanding; and tafsir scholar analysis emphasizes the background, method, and intellectual orientation of a mufassir. The development of tafsir has evolved dynamically throughout history in response to changing social, cultural, intellectual, and scientific contexts. This study aims to examine the historical development of Qur'anic exegesis from the classical, medieval, and contemporary periods. The research employs a library research method by analyzing various scholarly sources related to the history and development of tafsir. The findings reveal that classical tafsir was primarily characterized by a transmitted approach (tafsir bi al-ma’thur), relying on the Qur'an, Hadith, and the interpretations of the Companions and Successors. During the medieval period, tafsir expanded into various orientations, including jurisprudential, theological, philosophical, and mystical interpretations, influenced by the advancement of Islamic civilization and intellectual traditions. In the contemporary period, tafsir has undergone methodological renewal through contextual and interdisciplinary approaches that address modern issues such as human rights, democracy, environmental concerns, and technological developments. These developments demonstrate that tafsir remains a dynamic and adaptive discipline while maintaining the fundamental principles of Islamic teachings. Therefore, understanding the historical development of tafsir is essential for comprehending the evolution of Islamic thought and the continuing relevance of the Qur'an in addressing contemporary challenges.
Nurhalimah Gunawan Safril Farid Adnir Hak Cipta (c) 2026 Jurnal Akademika Kajian Ilmu-Ilmu Sosial, Humaniora Dan Agama 2026-06-24 2026-06-24 6 2 PENGERTIAN MUQOBALAH DAN CONTOHNYA (MUQOBALAH DALAM AL-QUR’AN) https://jurnal.wu-institute.com/index.php/jak/article/view/329
This study aims to examine the concept of Muqobalah, its examples, and its application in the verses of the Qur’an. This research employs a library research method with a descriptive qualitative approach. The data were collected from the Qur’an, classical and contemporary Qur’anic commentaries (tafsir), books on Balaghah, scholarly journals, and other relevant literature related to the study of Muqobalah. The findings reveal that Muqobalah plays a significant role in the Qur’an as one of the manifestations of its linguistic miracle, functioning to clarify meanings, emphasize messages, and provide educational as well as persuasive effects on readers. Forms of Muqobalah are widely found in verses discussing contrasts such as faith and disbelief, good and evil, paradise and hell, as well as guidance and misguidance. The use of Muqobalah in the Qur’an not only contributes to its aesthetic excellence but also helps readers understand the consequences of their actions and life choices. Furthermore, Muqobalah contains various wisdoms, including the cultivation of moral values, the strengthening of faith, the development of reflective thinking, and the enhancement of understanding of the Qur’anic message. The Messenger chosen by Him to receive this revelation is Prophet Muhammad SAW, who came from the Arab nation. Therefore, by His will, the Al-Quran was revealed in the language of that nation, namely Arabic. To properly and correctly understand its contents, we are obligated to know the intricacies within the Al-Quran. Auxiliary sciences in interpreting the Al-Quran are highly necessary—even obligatory—to comprehend deeply and apply to its verses, resulting in an understanding that aligns with the context of the times. Within the Quranic auxiliary sciences, particularly Balaghah, the interpretive principle of Kinayah needs to be discussed, given the varied communicative language of the Al-Quran. Sometimes, it uses language that can be understood textually, while at other times, the Al-Quran employs language not easily grasped from text alone, but also requires understanding the verse’s context. Indeed, the Al-Quran often uses sarcasm, which requires grasping through principles and contextual knowledge along with supporting sciences to comprehend it.
Muhammad Zaki Rais Aansyahduhan Hak Cipta (c) 2026 Jurnal Akademika Kajian Ilmu-Ilmu Sosial, Humaniora Dan Agama 2026-06-22 2026-06-22 6 2 TOKOH ILMU BALAGHATUL QUR’AN, PENGERTIAN DAN SEJARAH BALAGHATUL QUR’AN https://jurnal.wu-institute.com/index.php/jak/article/view/335
This paper aims to examine the definition, historical development, and prominent figures of Balaghatul Qur’an as a foundational framework for understanding the linguistic inimitability of the Qur’an. Etymologically, balaghah derives from the Arabic root balagh, meaning “to reach”, referring to the ability to convey a message precisely and impressively to the audience. Terminologically, this discipline encompasses three main branches: Ilm al-Ma’ani, which studies the conformity of sentences with their context; Ilm al-Bayan, which examines various figurative expressions such as tasybih (simile), isti’arah (metaphor), and kinayah (allusion); and Ilm al-Badi’, which addresses the aesthetic dimensions of both form and meaning. Balaghatul Qur’an specifically applies these rhetorical sciences to uncover the beauty and miraculous nature of Qur’anic language, which no human or jinn can replicate. The historical development of this science progressed gradually, beginning with the pre-Islamic Arab literary tradition, evolving during the early Islamic period as a scholarly response to the need for deeper Qur’anic understanding, reaching systematic maturity between the 3rd and 7th centuries Hijri, and undergoing methodological renewal in the modern era. Eminent scholars who made monumental contributions to this field include Abu Ubaidah Ma’mar bin Mutsanna through Majaz al-Qur’an, Al-Jahiz through al-Bayan wa al-Tabyin, Abd al-Qahir al-Jurjani through the al-nazm theory in Dala’il al-I'jaz, Al-Zamakhsyari through the al-Kasysyaf exegesis, Al-Sakkaki through Miftah al-‘lum, and Ali al-Jarim and Mustafa Amin through al-Balaghah al-Wadhihah in the modern period.
Dela Widya Salsa Taufik Rizal Ummi Annisa Gultom Hak Cipta (c) 2026 Jurnal Akademika Kajian Ilmu-Ilmu Sosial, Humaniora Dan Agama 2026-06-24 2026-06-24 6 2 METODOLOGI PENELITIAN TAFSIR: JENIS DAN MODEL KAJIAN AL-QUR’AN https://jurnal.wu-institute.com/index.php/jak/article/view/325
This study discusses data collection techniques in Qur'anic exegesis (tafsir) research, which is an important aspect of Qur'anic studies. However, a methodological approach grounded in scientific and rational inquiry can provide greater intellectual satisfaction as well as deeper spiritual reassurance. In this context, the verses of the Qur’an especially those that contain ambiguous meanings (mutashabihat)require interpretation through an esoteric approach (ta’wil). The use of ta’wil opens up a wide range of interpretations, particularly in the study of the Qur’an’s language and literary aspects. This is essential, as the language of the Qur’an must be understood as guidance for humankind. One of the focal points in contemporary scholarship is the discourse on figurative language (metaphor) and literal meaning (denotative). At this point, reasoning plays a crucial role in achieving a deeper understanding of the Qur’anic verses. Although this approach is not universally accepted among all scholars, it has developed into a distinct field within Qur’anic exegesis and studies, commonly referred to as the concepts of haqiqa (literal meaning) and majaz (figurative expression).
Fadilah Fitri Amaliah Lili Suryani Siregar Hak Cipta (c) 2026 Jurnal Akademika Kajian Ilmu-Ilmu Sosial, Humaniora Dan Agama 2026-06-24 2026-06-24 6 2 TEORI BATAS DALAM PENAFSIRAN AURAT PEREMPUAN: TELAAH PEMIKIRAN MUHAMMAD SYAHRUR https://jurnal.wu-institute.com/index.php/jak/article/view/338
This study examines Muhammad Syahrur's deconstructive thinking in response to the deadlock in Islamic interpretation in the modern era. Previously, hadith was studied through structured scholarly traditions under the guidance of qualified scholars. Today, however, hadith can be accessed instantly through various digital platforms and social media. This phenomenon provides positive impacts in the form of easier access to Islamic sources, but it also creates various challenges related to the authority of hadith scholarship. This study aims to analyze the problems of hadith authority in the modern era and its relationship with the development of social media. The research employs a library research method with a descriptive-analytical approach. The findings indicate that social media has contributed to a shift in religious authority from traditional scholars to more popular digital figures. In addition, the spread of unverified hadiths, low levels of hadith literacy among the public, and the tendency to interpret hadith textually are major challenges in maintaining the authority of hadith. Tibaq is a figure of contrast that brings together two words or expressions with opposing meanings within a single sentence, whether in terms of wording or meaning. This study aims to identify patterns of tibaq, classify its types, and analyze its rhetorical functions and theological implications within the Qur’anic text. The method employed is qualitative textual analysis based on the classical balaghah approach, drawing upon the works of earlier scholars who specifically addressed the science of badi’ and Arabic stylistics. The research findings indicate that tibaq in the Qur’an does not merely serve as a literary ornament but plays a strategic role in conveying the majesty of Allah’s attributes, depicting the duality of the universe, and reinforcing the theological arguments underpinning Islamic teachings. It was also found that tibaq in the Qur’an appears in two main forms: tibaq al-ijab, which directly juxtaposes two opposing terms, and tibaq al-salab, which creates contrast through negative constructions. The widespread use of tibaq in verses dealing with the natural world and eschatology indicates that semantic contrast is a deliberate and planned rhetorical device designed to evoke awareness, reflection, and faith in the reader. This study is expected to contribute to a deeper understanding of the beauty of the Qur’an’s style and to enrich the discourse on i’jaz al-bayan in contemporary Qur’anic studies.
Nazua Amelia Putri Suci Rahmadani Hak Cipta (c) 2026 Jurnal Akademika Kajian Ilmu-Ilmu Sosial, Humaniora Dan Agama 2026-06-22 2026-06-22 6 2
